(CNN) — A manhunt was under way Friday morning for at least one suspect after two police officers and another suspect were injured in a shootout at an apartment complex just east of Atlanta, police said.
The police officers were sent to a hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries; the injured suspect was in a hospital in critical condition Friday morning, DeKalb County police Capt. Stephen Fore said.
Two DeKalb County police officers were shot at about 6:45 a.m. as they approached the Colony Ridge Apartments about 9 miles east of downtown Atlanta to investigate a report of a home invasion and armed robbery there, Fore said.
The officers returned fire, injuring a suspect. At least one other suspect fled, and police are looking for that person, Fore said.
