Sankey to Represent Portions of Cambria County

HARRISBURG – Despite constitutionally required redistricting that has produced changes to legislative districts throughout the state, Cambria County maintains its three seats in the state House.

What is different, however, are the boundary lines that separate those districts, according to state Rep. Tommy Sankey (R-Clearfield/Cambria), who now serves residents of the 73rd District.

“The district which I represent now includes the townships of Barr, Blacklick, Susquehanna and West Carroll and the boroughs of Hastings, Nanty Glo, Northern Cambria and Vintondale,” said Sankey.

“My staff and I are looking forward to meeting and greeting the new faces we are now working for in the state Legislature.”

Sankey is still finalizing plans for an office in Cambria County and anticipates making a formal announcement in the very near future.

“Until then, anyone in those municipalities who needs to contact me with questions has a number of options,” Sankey added.

“They can email me atTsankey@pahousegop.com, post a question on my Facebook page, www.facebook.com/repsankey, or log on to www.repsankey.com, my legislative Web site.”

Municipalities that were part of the 73rd District before redistricting have been shifted to either the 71st or 72nd District. Anyone with questions about the changes should call the Cambria County Courthouse at 814-472-1460.

In addition to portions of Cambria County, 36 Clearfield County municipalities are part of the 73rd District, whose population is estimated at 64,892. For a full list of municipalities, please go to Sankey’s Web site and click on the “District Map” button.
