Francis “Frank” Camuso, 63 of Brockway and formerly of DuBois died Sunday, Dec. 7, 2014 at his residence surrounded by those whom he loved and cared for.
Born Jan. 12, 1951 in Punxsutawney, he was the son of the late Frank & Mary (Walsh) Camuso. He was raised in Brockway and had resided in Freehold, NJ, Jackson, NJ, DuBois and Greencastle prior to returning to Brockway in 2011.
On May 25, 1985, he married Georgina “Gina” Brownlow. She preceded him in death on Jan. 10, 2011.
He began working at Brockway Clay in 1969; he worked for Brockway Glass, Freehold, NJ, from 1971-1989. He then established and operated Four Star Landscaping, Jackson, NJ from 1989-1994.
From 1994-1996, he was the assistant superintendent at Pinecrest Country Club, Brookville; from 1996-2006, he was the assistant superintendent of Scottish Heights Golf Club, Brockport; and from 2006-2009, he was the assistant superintendent at Worthington Manor, Frederick, Md.
He was a former member and past captain of the Freehold First Aid & Emergency Squad, Freehold, NJ. He was a member of Knights of Columbus in both Green Castle and DuBois. And, from 2004-2006, he was the coach of the DuBois Central Catholic girls’ soccer team. He loved to fly fish and to work in his garden.
He’s survived by his three loving daughters, Amy E. Wiebesiek and her husband, Jimmy of Hamilton, NJ; Sara Jill Camuso and her husband, Sam Wallin of Brockway/Asheville, NC; and Hilarey Beth Camuso of Asheville, NC and his three grandchildren, Ethan, Natalie and Mason Wiebesiek.
He’s also survived by three sisters, Pat McKeone of Corpus Christi, Texas, Sue Hockman of Hershey and Mary Kay Camuso-Ludwig of Columbia Falls, Mont., and nine brothers, Mike and Vince, both of Brockway, Larry “Snare” of Camp Hill, Steve and Bill, both of DuBois, Paul of Salem, Ore., Joe of New Zealand, Tim of San Juan Batista, Calif.; and Mark of Harrisburg.
He was predeceased by a son, Matthew Camuso and brother, David Camuso.
Friends will be received from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home Inc. A scriptural wake service will be prayed at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at the St. Tobias Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Charles Kaza as celebrant. Msgr. Kaza will be assisted by Mr. Camuso’s good friend, Deacon George Kelder Jr.
