Protesters stage ‘die-in’ with coffins on Atlantic Avenue for Eric Garner

New York, NY (WPIX) — Some protesters are swarming the city and clashing with cops. In other cases, they’re deadly silent — lying down in traffic, like at this “die-in” in Brooklyn.

For the second night in a row, thousands of New Yorkers have overrun the streets. However, you don’t have to be a protester or a policeman to feel this pain.

Major roadways have been blocked again, including the Brooklyn Bridge and the Westside Highway.

Throughout the night, Houston St, 6th Ave and Broadway became overrun with activists and halted traffic.

These scenes around the City are part of the backlash after the decision to not indict the cop involved in the chokehold death of Eric Garner.

For the most part, demonstrators have not been violent, but they are well-organized and are all over the five boroughs: in Union Square, Foley Square, halting traffic at the FDR and the Holland Tunnel.

For a short period of time, they shut down the Brooklyn Bridge.

Thousands of demonstrators are still on the move.
