CLEARFIELD – Staff members at Visit Clearfield County (VCC) have announced the weekly events for Nov. 28 – Dec. 4.

Ritz Theater, downtown Clearfield

The theater’s lobby opens at 6:30 p.m. You can grab some popcorn, even if you cannot attend the movie showings. For movies and show times, please call 814-765-5835.  Prices are $6 for adults and $4 for children (12 years and under) and senior citizens (60 years and older).

10 Keys to Healthy Aging Workshops

Curwensville Community Center

You can take ownership of your health and attend educational workshops to learn about the 10 Keys to healthy aging and the many no-cost and low-cost preventative services provided by Medicare to help keep you healthy.

The free workshops are taught by certified health ambassadors and APPRISE counselors and will begin Friday, Nov. 7 from 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. (closed Nov. 28) at the Curwensville Community Center.

Lunch is available for a donation. Please call in advance if you plan to have lunch. The workshops are sponsored by the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging. For more information and to pre-register, call 814-765-2696 or 800-225-8571.

The Liddle Gallery

On Saturday, Nov. 29, the Sandy Lick Dulcimers will play at The Liddle Gallery on Small Business Saturday. Also, Starr Hill Winery will be on-hand, and there will be jewelry-making demonstrations, free gift-wrapping and refreshments. The Liddle Gallery is located at 109 E. “The Role of the Conservation Hunter”: Hunting season is here. Would it surprise you to know that hunters are some of our best wildlife conservationists? You can come and see this interesting and enlightening presentation on the important role that hunters play in management techniques to insure a healthy, sustainable wildlife population.

On Tuesdays at 10 a.m., “Babies & Books” will be held with Miss Becky. Babies who are up to 2 years old and their parent/caregiver can participate in this interactive story time full of finger-plays, songs, stories and bonding time.

On Tuesdays at 11 a.m., “Thrilling Threes” will be held with Miss Chris and Miss Jayme. Children will enjoy stories, songs, finger-plays and fun. Children will work on their independence, while their parents can enjoy the library.

On Thursdays at 10 a.m., “Terrific Twos” will be held with Miss Becky. During this program, 2-year-olds and their parent/caregiver will enjoy this fun-filled story time that will be packed with books, songs and finger-plays.

On Thursdays at 11 a.m., “Fantastic Fours & Fives” will be held with Miss Chris and Miss Sandy. During this program, children will get ready for school with stories, songs and games galore.  Children will work on their independence, while their parents can enjoy the library.

Spaghetti Dinner

A spaghetti dinner will be served from 4 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. every Thursday, except for holidays, at the Curwensville Community Center. The Italian dinner will include spaghetti, meatballs, salad and Italian bread.  Admission is $6 per adult and $2 per child; both dine-in and take-out will be available. The Curwensville Community Center is located at 11 Stadium Dr., Curwensville.

Trees of Giving at DuBois Mall

Individuals can bring a canned food item(s) and place them in the box of your favorite store’s tree through Dec. 12. The DuBois Mall is located at 5522 Shaffer Rd., Suite 122, DuBois.

Shop Benezette

You can join the community on Dec. 5-7 for the third annual Shop Benezette. There will be savings, specials and unique gifts found in the Benezette area. Also, on Dec. 5 at 7 p.m., you can join the community for light up the tree at the Benezette School House.
