Man Jailed for Allegedly Threatening Mother, Possessing Suspected Meth-Related Items

DUBOIS – A man was jailed for allegedly threatening his mother with a gun and being found with suspected methamphetamine-related items in a hotel room, reported the Sandy Township police.

Police were dispatched to the Clarion Hotel on Saturday when a 56-year-old South Carolina woman reported that her 27-year-old son was threatening her with a gun. She also believed he was high on methamphetamine.

Upon arrival police found the woman in the hotel lobby; the man was still inside the hotel room. The man, police said, initially refused to exit but eventually did when police went to the hotel room.

According to police, a weapon and several suspected methamphetamine-related items were located in the hotel room.  The man was subsequently arrested and lodged in the Clearfield County Jail.
