John R. Nestor, 83, of DuBois died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2014 at his home.
Born May 10, 1931 in Westville, he was the son of the late R. John Nestor and Marjorie (Hemphill) Nestor Lundberg.
In June of 1953, he married Barbara (Porrin) Nestor. She survives.
He was a veteran of the Korean War. He served in the U.S. Army as a military policeman.
Mr. Nestor was a construction worker and equipment operator with the Local Union No. 66. He retired after many years of service. He loved to go camping with his grandchildren and to work in his garden.
He is survived by a daughter, Karen Uplinger and her husband, Michael of Brookville; a brother, George Nestor of Brockway; two granddaughters, Ashley Snyder and her husband, Michael of Clarington and Jamie Boyer and her husband, Justin of Munderf; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Ernest Nestor and a sister, Martha Price.
Friends will be received from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. Sunday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with Pastor John Miller officiating.
Burial will follow in Lakelawn Memorial Park.
