DUBOIS – A couple has been charged in connection with two home invasions in DuBois, announced Clearfield County District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr.

Shaw identified the defendants as Nathan Bowser, 23, of Jefferson Street, Brookville, and Jacquelynn Primm, 21, of South Avenue, DuBois.

On Nov. 17, Corporals Orlando Prosper and Randall Young of the DuBois City Police Department filed criminal complaints, charging Bowser and Primm with burglary, robbery, criminal trespass and theft by unlawful taking.

According to the criminal complaints, on Nov. 11, police were dispatched to a residence on Knarr Street, DuBois City, for a home invasion. Two suspects had allegedly broken into a residence and threatened the occupants before fleeing on foot.

Upon arrival police made contact with one of the victims who reported that she’d been sleeping when she was awoken by two people standing in her bedroom. She said that one suspect who was a taller male demanded money and displayed a handgun.

The victim told police that she gave the male $30 in cash from her purse. The female, she said, ordered the male to take her purse. The victim told police that the male took possession of a phone from her purse and the couple fled the residence.

Police found the basement door ajar with fresh pry and scuff marks from being kicked in. Also, police found that the phone in the residence had been disabled, so that the victims would be unable to immediately call for help.

Police noted that one victim was able to identify Bowser and Primm as the suspects. The victim recognized their voices from them working around her residence on prior occasions.

The criminal complaints also provide that on Tuesday, police received a report about an alleged burglary and criminal trespass incident that occurred on Sept. 29 at the same residence located on Knarr Street, DuBois City.

A witness told police that she’d observed Bowser and Primm exiting the basement door of the residence while the owners were not home. Upon investigation it was found that Bowser and Primm had broken the window of the basement door and removed personal documents from the victim’s strong box.

Shaw said that Bowser and Primm were apprehended and arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Richard Ireland. During their arraignment, Ireland set bail at $75,000 for each of the defendants. Bowser’s and Primm’s preliminary hearings are scheduled for Friday.

Shaw commended the investigative efforts of the DuBois City police in order to identify and locate the two defendants. Shaw explained that this type of violent criminal activity is unacceptable and continued efforts will be made to identify, investigate and prosecute criminals responsible for this type of behavior.
