Clearfield Revitalization Corp. Announces Holiday Promotion Series

CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Revitalization Corp.’s (CRC) Main Street Program has announced its holiday promotion series: Shop Clearfield for Christmas.

The CRC promotion will kick off with “12 Days of Clearfield for Christmas.” The Facebook promotion will showcase a variety of gift items from Nov. 25 – Dec. 6. These items will be available for purchase locally and for anyone on a Christmas list.

The CRC would like to encourage community members to visit downtown Clearfield on Nov. 29 for Small Business Saturday. Downtown businesses will offer specials. In addition, the CRC will be set up at the Henry & Co. building to offer free gift wrapping and refreshments for shoppers from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

The Liddle Gallery will also provide free gift wrapping that day. A choir made up of community members will kick off the Small Business Saturday event, starting at 10 a.m. on the steps of the Clearfield County Courthouse.

Kent’s Kettle Corn and Dogs Gone Crazy will be downtown for the event. These events are sponsored by Hess & Fisher Engineers Inc. and Hughes Engineering PC.

The CRC’s Main Street Program will host its annual Taste of the Town Spirit Tour from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. Dec. 5. The CRC has partnered with local wineries and breweries, as each participating business location offers a different beverage sample and a complimentary food item.

There will be exclusive downtown business specials for those on the wine tour. During the tour, the Liddle Gallery will have art on display from local artists and Mr. Perry Winkler will be available to sign his book.

The CRC will also have a collection bin for canned goods the night of the wine tour. Collected items will be donated to a local food bank.

The Clearfield Elks will offer a hot roast beef or turkey sandwich and French fries special for $6 from 8 p.m. -10 p.m.

To participate in this event, you must register. Early registration prices for tickets are $15 each through Nov. 29 and include a wristband, souvenir glass and walking map.  Tickets are $20 each from Dec. 1-5.

Tickets are being sold at the CRC office from 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at 6 S. Front St. (Clearfield Borough office).

The CRC would like to thank its sponsors for making this event possible, including CNB Bank and Tracy Clark-Radzieta, CPA.

In addition, patrons can be rewarded for visiting downtown businesses. The CRC will host a Frequent Visitor Program from Nov. 29 – Dec. 6. For every five visits to a participating downtown business, visitors can be entered to win one of many gift certificates. No purchase is required for entry.

Main Street Manager Loretta Wagner stated, “Supporting local business is beneficial to our local economy. Not only does more money stay local, but also shopping small, local businesses has advantages for shoppers.

“Throughout our downtown stores, the staffs are more familiar with their merchandise and offer personalized assistance in a low stress atmosphere – something you cannot find online or at a large chain store.

“If everyone committed to purchasing at least one gift locally this holiday season, Clearfield would see a great impact.”

The CRC wishes everyone a happy and safe holiday season. If you would like to make a contribution to the CRC or get more information about events, please call 814-765-6000.
