“Terrific Turkeys” Homeschool Day Set at Sinnemahoning

AUSTIN – The North American turkey has been playing a vital role in the natural world long before making its way to the dinner table each Thanksgiving.

On Nov. 19 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., Sinnemahoning will host a field learning opportunity for homeschool students. Participants will explore the adaptations, communication and history of the turkey through a variety of fun and engaging demonstrations and activities.  Program is appropriate for grade levels K-12.

Pre-registration is required for this free field learning opportunity. To register your child, please contact Jess Bierly at the Sinnemahoning State Park office 814-647-8401, Ext. 105 or e-mail SinnemahoningEE@pa.gov.

Program size is limited so registering early is encouraged.  Deadline to register is Nov. 14.

If you need an accommodation to participate in Pennsylvania State Park activities due to a disability, please contact the park you plan to visit.  With at least three days’ notice, interpreters for people who are deaf or hard of hearing are available for educational programs.
