Edward M. Jarrett, 76, of Woodland died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2014 at UPMC Altoona. He was born Feb. 28, 1938 in Philipsburg, a son of the late George and Flora (Heeman) Jarrett.
Mr. Jarrett retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, District II, in Hyde after 37 years of service. He will be remembered for having a great love for his family, especially his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He’s survived by his wife, Marion Dixon Maines Jarrett, whom he wed June 16, 1971, and five children, Florence Christine Smeal of Clearfield, Rebecca Ann Bumbarger and her husband, Douglas of DuBois, Edwina Lynn Lococo and her husband, Kevin of Chambersburg and Madeline Louise Smeal and Michael Lee Jarrett and his fiancée, Renee Bloom of Woodland.
He’s also survived by 15 grandchildren, Christina, Melissa, Shawn, Amber, Lesley Jr., Jettie, Mariah, Douglas Jr., Nicholas, Ryan, Tiffany, Alison, Robin and Lacy; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bertha Molica of Philipsburg and Ruby Eamigh of Philipsburg; three children from a prior marriage, Edward, Tammy and Spencer; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Eillen Martell and Madeline Martell and two brothers, George Jarrett and Jimmy Jarrett.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield, with the Rev. Daniel M. Osterhout officiating. Burial will follow in the Bradford Cemetery, Woodland.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
