Martha Schneider, 76, of West Decatur died Monday, Nov. 3, 2014 at the Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College. Born May 11, 1938 in Philipsburg, she was the daughter of the late Allen and Ina Baker.
She was a member of the Sts. Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church, Philipsburg. She was always there for anyone who needed anything.
She married Cledus Frederick Schneider on May 9, 1959 at the St. Francis Roman Catholic Church, Clearfield. He preceded her in death on Sept. 20, 1992.
Mrs. Schneider is survived by her daughters, Pamela Trude and her husband, Douglas of Morrisdale and Angela Reader and her companion, Patrick Byers of West Decatur; her daughter-in-law by love, Kathy Biggans of Grassflat; and her son, Joseph Schneider and his wife, Cassandra of Casanova.
She’s also survived by her sister, Genevive Dixon; her brothers, Donald Baker and Charlie Records; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, James M. Schneider; five sisters, Elverda Read, Dorothy Lanager, Ruth Maines, Margaret Dunlap and Geraldine Koontz; and three brothers, Robert Baker, James Records and Clarence Records.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at the St. Severins Roman Catholic Church, Grassflat, with the Father David A. Perry Jr. as celebrant. Burial will be in the St. Severins Roman Catholic Cemetery, Drifting.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Johnson Funeral Home, Grassflat. The rosary will be said at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
