Pleasant Gap Man Killed in Accident

HUSTON TOWNSHIP – The investigation is continuing into a fatal accident that occurred Saturday on State Park Road in the area of Colby Road in Huston Township, reported the state police at DuBois.

Craig Rupert, 60, of Lock Haven was traveling north when he lost control of his vehicle while negotiating a right-hand curve. His vehicle subsequently slid into an embankment and overturned onto its roof, state police said.

Rupert’s passenger, Carl Smith Jr., 65, of Pleasant Gap was pronounced dead at the scene. Rupert was transported to DuBois Penn Highlands for treatment of major injuries, state police said.

State police were assisted at the scene by the Penfield Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services.
