CLEARFIELD – Staff members at Visit Clearfield County (VCC) have announced the weekly events for Oct. 31 – Nov. 6.

Ritz Theater, downtown Clearfield

Monday-Sunday

The theater’s lobby opens at 6:30 p.m. You can grab some popcorn, even if you cannot attend the movie showings. For movies and show times, please call 814-765-5835.  Prices are $6 for adults and $4 for children (12 years and under) and senior citizens (60 years and older).

All about the Moon

Punxsutawney Weather Discovery Center

Friday, Oct.  31

The Punxsutawney Weather Discovery Center will present “All About the Moon,” through Nov. 1. Highlights are “The Moon: Cosmic Decoder Ring” 3D exhibit, a mini “planetarium,” moon folklore and myths and video features about the moon in our theater.

Accuweather.com astronomy blogger Mark Paquette will give a special presentation about the moon for older kids and adults. The presentation, which features stunning images and graphics, will be held two times that day: 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. The program is included in the regular admission price.

There will be regular $5 per person (children 2 years and under free) admission. Hours are from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday through Saturday. For more information, please call 814-938-1000. The Punxsutawney Weather Discovery Center is located at 201 N. Findley St., Punxsutawney.

Haunt Season “Freaks”

Ravenwood Manor

Ravenwood Manor’s Haunt Season “Freaks” is open now until its last weekend on Nov. 1-2. Kids are admitted free and tickets are $12 for adults.

The ticket booth opens at 7 p.m. each night and closes at midnight. Personal checks and credit cards are not accepted for payment.

The groups entering the mansion consist of seven to nine guests. Most children who are under the age of 8 years often cannot make it through the attraction.

The Haunted Attraction Tours last approximately 26 minutes and pass through three floors of mayhem.  Dozens of seasoned actors have been waiting for the arrival of guests.

No use of photography is permitted inside the premises.

The haunted mansion is located at 3263 Crossroads Blvd., Beccaria. For more information, please visitwww.hegartymansion.com.

Corn Maze

Borrowing Freedom

Through Nov. 2, the corn maze will be open at Borrowing Freedom. It’s open from 6 p.m. – 11 p.m. Saturdays and from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. Sundays; admission is $5 per person per walk-through or ride.

Hayrides and pony rides are available on Sunday only. Also, there will not be any haunted hay rides this year.

Fall Open House

LHU Clearfield Campus

Saturday, Nov. 1

On Saturday, a fall open house will be held at Lock Haven University’s Clearfield campus. Attendees will learn about the financial aid process and degree options, as well as visit the campus bookstore and tour campus and the Founder’s Village Apartments. Lock Haven University, Clearfield campus, is located at 201 University Dr., Clearfield.

Christmas Craft Show

Saturday, Nov. 1

On Saturday, Nov. 1, there will be a Christmas craft show at the Lakeview Lodge, Treasure Lake. The craft show will take place from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. In addition to crafters, there will be a light lunch and Goodwill donations will be accepted at the door. Borrowing Freedom

High Intensity Training

From beginner to advanced, there will be high intensity strength and cardio training classes for 30 minutes. This is an eight-week course for $5 per class or $50 for the eight weeks. Classes start Monday, Sept. 22 and occur every Monday and Wednesday for eight weeks. Classes will take place at the Lakeview Lodge Poolside. On Tuesdays at 11 a.m., “Thrilling Threes” will be held with Miss Chris and Miss Jayme. Children will enjoy stories, songs, finger-plays and fun. Children will work on their independence, while their parents can enjoy the library.

On Thursdays at 10 a.m., “Terrific Twos” will be held with Miss Becky. During this program, 2-year-olds and their parent/caregiver will enjoy this fun-filled story time that will be packed with books, songs and finger-plays.

On Thursdays at 11 a.m., “Fantastic Fours & Fives” will be held with Miss Chris and Miss Sandy. During this program, children will get ready for school with stories, songs and games galore.  Children will work on their independence, while their parents can enjoy the library.

Meet at 6 p.m. – Environmental Education Classroom

There’s a full moon tonight. Start by learning about the moon and moon phases in the classroom. You will also discover why the full moon has different names throughout the year. Then, we will go outside and take a look at the moon through the park’s telescopes. Adult Learner Workshop

Lock Haven Clearfield invites the public to its Adult Learner Workshop, which will be held on Thursday, Nov. 6 at 6:30 p.m. The workshop will provide information on new certificate and degree tracks and other programs of interest to adult learners.

Representatives from admissions will be on hand to answer questions and assist in taking the first step toward higher education.
