CLEARFIELD – Did you know that a healthy lifestyle offers the best chance for a longer and happier life? Imagine having a simple, step-by-step action plan that will help you live a healthier life and reduce the risk factors that lead to many chronic diseases.
That’s what you’ll find in the 10 Keys™ to Healthy Aging program, developed by the Center for Aging and Population Health at the University Of Pittsburgh Graduate School Of Public Health.
The educational course has been designed to include both classroom instruction and discussion to help you learn about healthy aging and Medicare preventative services. These classes are taught by Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging’s (CCAAA) APPRISE and Prime Time Health staff who are certified Health Ambassadors.
The “10 Keys”™ to Healthy Aging were identified to target the causes of disease and disability that could be greatly reduced, postponed, or eliminated to promote successful or healthy aging in functional older adults.
The “10 Keys” ™ to Healthy Aging workshops are being offered on Fridays from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. beginning Nov. 7, at the Curwensville Community Center at 11 Stadium Dr. in Curwensville. The classes are sponsored by the CCAAA and the Curwensville Area Blueprints Communities Initiative.
Lunch will be available for a donation. Please register by Nov. 5. For more information and to pre-register, call 814-765-2696 or 800-225-8571.
Programs and services of the agency are funded in part by the Pennsylvania Department of Aging, the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging Inc., Mature Resources Foundation and local and consumer contributions.
