CLEARFIELD – On Oct. 22 at the Lock Haven University – Clearfield campus, a Sustainability Studies Day was held for local students.

This day promoted knowledge and awareness to protect human health and the environment, where humans and nature exist in productive harmony.

Students, who are enrolled in Sarah Fye’s advanced chemistry class at Clearfield Area Junior-Senior High School, had the opportunity to participate in hands-on laboratory exercises and develop business proposals focused on sustainability.

Students were actively engaged in the following sustainability studies: soil microbiology and sustainable crop production, healthcare sustainability, green team in action and basic water safety and conservation law enforcement. Students made authentic connections during these activities while learning how sustainability impacts humans and nature.
