DUBOIS, Pa. – Back in February, a fire brought the popular DuBois Country Club to the ground and now there are plans to rebuild an even bigger and better one.
Many people lost wedding reservations and other events had to be canceled as well and the club even lost their liquor license for being inactive.
On Friday, dozens attended a groundbreaking ceremony which symbolized the beginning of a brand-new country club and banquet hall, with a capacity of 500 people with the ability to host conventions.
Getting to this point wasn’t easy. Board members said they put a lot of effort and dedication into getting the demolition done, drawing up a new blueprint, working with insurance companies and choosing an architect.
Those who are in charge of bringing the country club back said the community deserves it. The actual construction is slated to start at the beginning of November and expected to be completed by Mother’s Day.
The country club has another special announcement coming up in the next week or so, so stay with 6 News and WJACTV.com.
