Madeline D. Litchard, 90, of Northumberland and formerly of Hawk Run died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014 at Nottingham Village in Northumberland.
Born Jan. 4, 1924 in Hawk Run, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Anna (Sefchick) Kalina.
She was a member of the St. Monica’s Catholic Church in Sunbury. She was a loving and caring mother who especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was the co-owner, along with her husband, George, of Litchard’s Bakery in Northumberland for many years. She was also a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six sisters, Anna Kosut, Mary Blazosky, Susan Tutokey, Elizabeth Straka, Julia and Helen Soltis and three brothers, Steve, Paul and Joseph Kalina. She was the last of her generation.
Mrs. Litchard is survived by a daughter, Sandra Yordy and her husband, Randy of Windgap; two sons, Kevin Litchard and his wife, Denise of Sunbury and Craig Litchard and his wife, Gail of Northumberland.
She’s also survived by six grandchildren, Gregory Yordy and his wife, Brooke of Pitman, NJ, Gretchen Bisher of Windgap, Andrew Litchard and Brent Litchard and his wife, Jannelle, both of Sunbury, and Samantha and Megan Litchard, both of Northumberland; seven great-grandchildren, Bryce, Brayden, Aubrie, Brody, Lindsey, Jordan and Alec; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at the St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Hawk Run with Father William Rupp officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery in Hawk Run.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Friday at the church.
