Wilma Jane Jones, 84, of Philipsburg and formerly of Port Matilda, died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014 at Windy Hill Village in Philipsburg.
Born May 1, 1930 in West Decatur, she was the daughter of the late J. Walter Sr. and Bertha May (Wisor) Hamer.
She married William B. Jones on May 1, 1948 in West Decatur; he preceded her in death on Jan. 25, 2002.
Mrs. Jones was a member of the New Life Center in Philipsburg. She was employed with the maintenance department at Penn State until her retirement.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kimberly Lambert; five sisters, Evelyn Luzier, Bernice Spittler, Helen Waring, Ruth Fleck and Vaughn Cole; and a brother, Walter Hamer Jr.
Mrs. Jones is survived by two daughters, Margaret Elaine Myers and her husband, John of Philipsburg and Deborah Ann Hoy and her husband, Michael of Port Matilda and a son, Donald B. Jones and his wife, Sandy of Palm Harbor, Fla.
She is survived by a sister, Frances Shimmel and her husband, Clyde and a brother, Ashley Hamer and his wife, Shirley, both of York. She is also survived by five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Jean Hamer of York; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home in Philipsburg, with the Rev. John T. Dill officiating. Burial will be at the Black Oak Cemetery in Port Matilda.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
