DuBois Man Pleads Guilty in Sexual Assault Case

CLEARFIELD – A DuBois man accused of sexually assaulting a young girl has pleaded guilty in Clearfield County Court.

Christopher C. Davis, 23, 64 Hanes Dr., DuBois, pleaded guilty to indecent assault of child less than 13-years old and was sentenced by Judge Paul E. Cherry to 21 months to seven years in state prison.

Even though Davis underwent a sexual assessment and was determined not to be a sexually violent predator, he will have to register under Megan’s Law. He was fined $1 plus costs and he must complete the Project Point of Light program.

The charges are the result of incidents that occurred at the Garden Grove Townhouses in Sandy Township.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, on Feb. 24, officers were called to the victim’s residence because the 9 year old victim told her mother that Davis had sexually assaulted her. She said Davis grabbed her by the arm and pulled her onto a bed.

He then placed his hand down her pants and fondled her. She also told her mother that he had done this three or four times but she was unsure when the other assaults happened.

When the victim was interviewed at Western PA Cares for Kids in Brookville, she told a forensic interviewer the same story she had told her mother. The girl appeared to be very truthful throughout the interview.

When police arrived at his residence on March 5, Davis could be seen in the apartment. But he ran toward the back of the apartment and out the back door. Officers chased him and he was taken into custody, as he tried to jump over a chain link fence.

During his interview with police, Davis admitted to sexually assaulting the victim and said it happened multiple times. He told the officers that he is sexually attracted to young girls.
