KYLERTOWN – The late Dora and Lloyd Hampton had a lasting and positive effect on the Kylertown Center for Active Living.

They were among the first consistent visitors of the senior center, and Dora actually held a position there for a short time. They both loved the services provided and the company there each day.

Recently, when they passed away, they had both requested that monetary donations be to the center in their memory in lieu of sending flowers.

The late Raymond Kreiger was also a long-time visitor to the center. Raymond’s wife, children and grandchildren also made donations to the center in his memory that were used toward the purchase of the outdoor furniture.

“We are very fortunate,” said Ginger Swanson, manager at the Kylertown Center for Active Living. “They were all such wonderful people, and they wanted something for people who use the center to enjoy.”

With the donations, the center was able to purchase two new picnic tables and three umbrellas with stands.

Blair Murray, lay speaker from the Lanse Evangelical Free Church, offered a dedication of the tables and umbrellas for more than two dozen center, visitors including the families of the late members.

“I think we are lucky to have people in the community that care about what we are doing here,” said Swanson. “They just wanted something nice for those who will visit here through the years. It’s a nice addition to our facility.”

The Kylertown Center for Active Living is located at 70 Senior Dr. in Kylertown. It is open from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.
