Curwensville Superintendent: Lockdown Lifted

CURWENSVILLE – The Curwensville Area School District has lifted its “full, external lockdown,” according to Superintendent Ronald Matchock.

The district, he said, operated under a lockdown upon advice from the state police. He said the state police were engaged in an active search for a robbery suspect in the Grampian area.

“There wasn’t any internal threat,” said Matchock in a brief phone interview with GantDaily.com. “All normal school activities will continue.

“As always, all external doors remain locked and visitors must be buzzed in and admitted only through the offices. I appreciate the patience and support of our parents and community during this incident.”
