CURWENSVILLE – On Sept. 10, members of the Curwensville Area Blueprint Team attended training in Foxburg to learn the methods, tools and structure for developing its initial five-year strategic plan.
“This is a very exciting time for us all, as we now face the most challenging and rewarding benchmark of our work together thus far,” said David Rose of the Blueprint Team.
“We will take the information from our community survey results and our community vision to move forward in the coming months with the development of specific projects to address those needs and goals identified within our communities.”
He pointed out that even though general needs, such as more jobs, will develop potential outcomes, such as implementing a national and international marketing campaign listing, the sale of the Howe’s Leather property will lead to one or more goals, such as establishing new businesses in the Curwensville area.
“All of these become a part of a living document that becomes our strategic plan,” said Rose. “Each facet will remain flexible and incorporate changes as needed. Our work is important and our expected results are priceless.”
Members of the Blueprint Team encourage residents from Curwensville and the surrounding areas to participate in its training sessions and town hall meetings to assist with developing its strategic plan. Upcoming “Draft Strategic Plan” sessions are scheduled for:
- Sept. 24, 6 p.m. – 8 p.m., Community Center Club Room;
- Sept. 29, 6 p.m. – 8 p.m., Community Center Club Room; and
- Oct. 1, 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Community Center Club Room.
The Curwensville Area Blueprint Team will present its drafted strategic plan from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Oct. 8 at the Community Center Main Room.
