PENFIELD – The Clearfield Area United Way recently conducted a site visit/board meeting at Camp Confidence, a member agency. Camp Confidence is a summer camp for the area’s challenged youth. It is held annually at Camp Mountain Run near Penfield.
Camp Director Grace Marshall and CAUW board members are shown reviewing information about the programs and services at Camp Confidence.
Students from area high schools who are interested in becoming a volunteer camp counselor next summer are asked to contact the CAUW at 814-765-6521.
“So many teen counselors have gone on to work in the fields of education, speech therapy, healthcare and a myriad of other careers because of their work during the summer camp. It’s a great program and not only for the campers, but for the volunteers, as well,” said Nancy Pinto of the Clearfield Area United Way.
