For children grades pre-school through middle school, “Is the Moon Made of Cheese? Part I” will be held twice on Saturday, Sept. 13 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. and from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
The two-hour program features activities centered around moon myths and facts and includes time with the exhibits. The cost is $7 per child.

Muddy Run Raceway is the home to all kinds of mud racing. Beginning in 1990, families from across Pennsylvania and surrounding states would pack up their cars and head out to Smoke Run for a day of mud splashing and crashing. The races include classes for ATVs, cars, 4×4 street trucks and professional trucks.

Join one of the park’s educators each September Wednesday evening in the Environmental Education Classroom at 6 p.m. to learn methods we can each use to live more naturally, keep common toxins out of our homes, save money and reduce our environmental footprint.

Natural soap making is a traditional craft using natural products that (once finished) do not harm our health or our environment. Join us as we discuss and demonstrate the process of soap making in the traditional way. Participants will learn how to make their own soap and discover which of the various ingredients may be beneficial to them. This grant presentation covers prospecting for funding, understanding a request for proposal, program planning and proposal writing. You will leave having a better understanding of the characteristic and practices of funders to find the right match for you and your organization. You will review in detail funding agencies requests, as well as delving into the components of a successful grant proposal.

Snake in the Grass, CAST Theatre

The Clearfield Arts Studio Theatre announced that its September play, a thriller titled “Murder in Green Meadows” is being exchanged for another thriller, “Snake in the Grass,” a story that revolves around three women.
“Snake in the Grass” will run Sept. 18-20 and Sept. 25-27 with curtain call at 7 p.m. each evening. Tickets are $8 and can be reserved by calling the CAST office at 814-765-4474. Tickets can also be purchased at the box office each show night.
