Chamber, Library to Host Art Contest

CLEARFIELD – The Chamber of Commerce of Clearfield and the Joseph & Elizabeth Shaw Public Library will host an art contest for all area children and youth. Winning entries will be featured on a 12-month calendar available for 2015.

The contest is open to children ages 3 through 11 years. All entries must be completed in the appropriate age category using the seasonal theme of “My favorite thing to do in…”

Each entrant is encouraged to draw his/her favorite activity or hobby to do in the specified season: winter, ages 3 – 5 years; spring, ages 6 – 7 years; summer, ages 8 – 9 years; and fall, ages 10 – 11 years.

All submissions must be created on paper sized 8.5-inch by 11-inch using markers or crayons. In order to ensure successful printing of winning entries, landscape (horizontal) paper setting is required.

When submitting artwork in the contest, parents or guardians must fill out and sign an official entry form.

Entries will be accepted from Sept. 8 through Oct. 11 at the Shaw Public Library, 1 S. Front St., Clearfield, or at the Chamber of Commerce of Clearfield, 125 E. Market St., Clearfield.

All winners will be notified by mail the week of Oct. 20. Winners and their guests will be invited to Shaw Public Library for a special reception planned for Nov. 20.
