Obituary Notice: Mary Jane Bishop

Mary Jane Bishop, 74, of Woodland died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014 at her home.

Born Nov. 17, 1939 in Bigler, she was the daughter of the late Darby Curley Sr. and Alverta (Fleck) Curley-Kozak.

She was a homemaker. She was also a cosmetology instructor at the Clearfield Beauty Academy.

Mrs. Bishop was a member of Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two sons and a daughter, James R. Bishop Jr. and his wife, Sherry and William L. Bishop and his wife, Melissa, both of Woodland, and Debra A. Graham and her husband, Shawn of Bigler.

Also surviving are six grandchildren, Tyler and Daniel Bishop, Travis and Bryan English and Shae and Aspen Bishop; two great-grandchildren, Brooklynn and Summerland English; one sister and two brothers, Margaret Dides and her husband, Paul of Clearfield; Darby Curley and his wife, Freddie of Cleveland, Ohio and Jack Curley of Philipsburg; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, James R. Bishop Sr., whom she married April 30, 1956 and whom died Nov. 22, 2006.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mary Jane Bishop will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Bennett & Houser Funeral Home Inc., Clearfield, with Pastor Sean Patrick Smith officiating.

A time to share memories and have an opportunity to view will be held from 11 a.m. Monday until the hour of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bradford Cemetery, Woodland.
