State police at Ridgway
- An incident of retail theft occurred Tuesday at the Wal-Mart store in Fox Township. During the incident, a 29-year-old Ridgway woman allegedly concealed several items in a backpack. The items, state police said, totaled $72.84, and charges are being filed through the district court.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about a lost or stolen gun.
- Police received a traffic complaint that occurred on Route 879 near the Wolf Run intersection.

Curwensville Borough
- Police have initiated an investigation into a report about several animals allegedly being poisoned. The animals had been taken to a veterinarian for treatment.
DuBois City
- Police received a report about a suspicious male Monday outside of a vacant residence on Cemetery Avenue. Upon arrival police made contact with a male and female who were allegedly trespassing. Upon identifying the male, police found there were multiple warrants out for his arrest. Police took the male into custody and placed him in the Jefferson County Jail.
- Police received a report about an alarm Monday at a business in the 800 block of Beaver Drive. Upon arrival police found everything to be OK.
- Police received a report about neighbors who were allegedly engaged in a fight Monday at a Shaffer Road residence. Upon arrival police found them in a shouting match over one playing loud music. The males, police said, were separated, and no charges were filed.
- On Tuesday, police received a report about an intoxicated female who was allegedly causing problems in the area of East Long Avenue. Upon arrival police found the female was under the influence of a controlled substance. Upon further investigation, police found she was in possession of illegal controlled substances and drug paraphernalia. Police took the female into custody and placed her in the Clearfield County Jail on a detainer. Charges, police said, are currently pending against the female at this time.
- Police received a report about an alarm Tuesday at a business on North Franklin Street. Upon arrival police found everything to be OK.
- During the week of Aug. 24-30, police investigated five motor vehicle accidents. Police also issued 44 traffic citations and 16 written warnings.
Sandy Township
- On Sunday, an employee of Salon 405 reported that an African-American male had come into the store and was acting strangely. He left and tried to come back in, but the employee locked the door. Upon arrival police located a 25-year-old Brooklyn, NY man and found he was waiting for a bus and killing time. The situation, police said, was handled without incident.
- On Sunday, a vehicle driven by a 55-year-old DuBois man turned from Tozier Avenue onto Tipp Street and struck a vehicle driven by a 61-year-old DuBois man who was stopped on Tozier Avenue. No injuries and moderate damage were reported, said police.
- On Sunday, the manager of the Clarion Hotel reported that someone had been leaving strange notes on the guests’ vehicles. Upon investigation it was found to be a prank. The situation, police said, was handled without incident.
- On Monday, Treasure Lake Security reported that someone tipped over the port-a-potty at Little Flipper Lake.
- A dog was turned over that was found in the area of the Treasure Lake stables on Monday.
- Police received a report about a false alarm at K-Mart.
- On Monday, an employee of Eat ‘N Park reported that another employee had been stealing tips. The 29-year-old woman alleged she’d observed a 17-year-old Grampian boy taking part of one of her tips. The incident, police said, remains under investigation.
- On Tuesday, a Treasure Lake resident reported coming home and finding a basement door open. Nothing appeared to be missing and police could not find any evidence that the door was forced open.
- On Tuesday, Wal-Mart employees reported a woman pushed a cart of produce and other items out of the store without paying for them. The value of the items in the cart was $77. The incident, police said, remains under investigation at this time.
