Obituary Notice: Nancy Lee Irwin

Nancy Lee Irwin, 71, of Curwensville died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014 at DuBois Penn Highlands after a lengthy illness.

Born Dec. 4, 1942, she was the daughter of Charles F. and Mary M. (Rider) Taylor Sr.  She had worked for the Clearfield Cheese Company for more than 25 years.

On Nov. 28, 1958 in Clearfield, she wed Charles E. Irwin Sr., who preceded her in death on July 8, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Ruth Patterson; and brother-in-law, Gerald Patterson.

She’s survived by three children, Lucinda L. (Cindy) Fetter and her husband, Brian of Littlestown and Charles E. Irwin Jr. and his wife, Carolyn and Brian S. Irwin and his wife, Suzie, both of Curwensville.

She’s survived by 10 grandchildren, Danielle Green, Brianna Struble, Lindsey Gebhart, Brittany Byrne, Nathaniel Irwin, Cara Irwin, Leah Irwin, Kyle Irwin, Dan Luce and Dustin Luce and five great-grandchildren, Addison Green, Miles Green, Victoria Struble, Gabriella Struble and Ethan Irwin.

She’s also survived by four brothers, Jack Taylor and his wife, Virginia, Charles Taylor and his wife, Carol and William Taylor and his wife, Carol, all of Curwensville and Thomas Taylor of Grampian.

She was an avid Curwensville football and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. She also enjoyed painting and crocheting. But her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

At the request of Mrs. Irwin, there will be no public viewing or services. Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family at Oak Hill Cemetery in Curwensville.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Curwensville Public Library, 601 Beech St., Curwensville, PA 16833.
