Margaret L. “Peg” (Kitko) Fundack, 83, of Smoke Run died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014 at UPMC Altoona.
Born July 9, 1931 at Tubbs Crossing, RD Madera, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Margaret (Trella) Kitko. She was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, Ramey.
She was a homemaker. She was also a cook at the Pipe and Pistol and Alley Popper Restaurants for 10 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking and baking.
On May 14, 1948 in St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, she married Andrew Fundack, who preceded her in death on Nov. 5, 2008.
She’s survived by two children, Alan Fundack and his wife, Nancy of Ramey and Mary Campbell and her husband, Bill of Dysart; four grandchildren, Ashley Fundack of Baltimore, Md., Andrew Fundack of Ramey, Brian Campbell (Pam) of Harrisburg and Matthew Campbell of Altoona; and three great-grandsons, Austin, Bruce and Clark Campbell.
She’s also survived by her siblings, Tess Hansel and her husband, Gerard, Beverly “Bonnie” Bezilla and her husband, Ronald and Ken Kitko Sr. and his wife, Clementine “Tina,’ all of Houtzdale; Thomas Kitko and his wife, Francis of Tubbs Crossing; Mary Ellen Kitko of Smoke Run; Rose Butterworth and her husband, Jack of Philipsburg; Becky Kaspick and her husband, Thomas of Braselton, Ga.; Andrew Kitko of Ramey; Patricia Maxwell and her husband, Rick of Philipsburg; and Noreen Deslongchamp and her husband, Dennis of Lebanon and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Fundack on Nov. 29, 1984; three brothers, John “Jack” Kitko, Donald A. Kitko and Robert F. Kitko; and a sister, Lorraine Snyder.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Sunday and from 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Kruise Funeral Home Inc., Ramey. A Parastas service will be sung at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Fr. Anthony Balistreri officiating.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, Ramey, with Fr. Anthony Balistreri officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Ramey.
