Lock Haven University Announces Founder’s Day, Fall Convocation

LOCK HAVEN – Lock Haven University has announced its annual Founder’s Day Fall Convocation, which will take place on Sept. 3.

Faculty, staff, students and the community are invited to celebrate the University’s history and achievements, as well as honor Albert Newton Raub, founder and first principle of the Central State Normal School, now known as Lock Haven University.

The convocation will be held from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at the University’s Price Performance Arts Center, Lock Haven, with overflow seating available at Sloan Fine Arts Building.

Dr. Keith Betts will be returning to his alma mater as the Keynote Speaker for the ceremony. Betts earned his Bachelor in Management Science from LHU, and a Bachelor with Honors in Sports Administration & Science from Nottingham Trent University in Nottingham, England.

Betts holds a Doctor of Higher Education Administration and a Master of Business Administration from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He currently serves as Western Connecticut State University’s Vice President for Student Affairs, providing management and innovative leadership for many offices and campus life activities.
