Obituary Notice: James A. Null

James A. “Jim” Null, 80, of Curwensville died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014 at DuBois Penn Highlands. Born July 25, 1934 in Ramey, he was the son of Paul L. and Mary (Shedlock) Null.

He was a 1952 graduate of the Indiana Area High School. He served in the U.S. National Guard. He was the owner and operator of the Central Hotel and Catering in Curwensville for 44 years.

Mr. Null was a member of the Noble Lodge No. 480 Free and Accepted Masons in Curwensville, the Curwensville Lions Club, the Curwensville L.O.O.M, the Jaffa Shrine and the Chinklamoose Canoe Club.

On July 7, 1954 in Elderton, he wed Deloris “Dee” Cunningham, who survives of Curwensville, along with three children, James A. Null II of Curwensville, John M. Null and his wife, Georgann of Clearfield and David P. Null and his wife, Dana of Bradenton, Fla.

He’s also survived by six grandchildren, James A. Null III,  Jason N. Null and his wife, Alyssa and Alayna Null, all of Clearfield and Alex Null, Nick Null and Carter Null, all of Florida; a great-grandson, Collin Null of Curwensville; and two sisters, Jeanne Wilkerson of Maryland and Mary Ann Shoff of Indiana, PA.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John Null.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville, with Mr. Gray Jewart officiating. Burial will be held in the Oakland Cemetery in Indiana, PA.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. Thursday until the time of services at the funeral home.  There will be a Masonic Memorial Service at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Shriners Children Hospital, 3551 N. Broad St., Philadelphia, PA 19140.
