Sandy Police Investigate Alleged Burglary

DUBOIS – The Sandy Township police have initiated an investigation into an alleged burglary that occurred at an elderly woman’s residence.

An unknown male allegedly distracted the woman by asking about her property lines. At the same time, another male allegedly removed items from the woman’s residence, police said.

During the alleged incident, the first male advised the woman that he was working for a construction company. He stated that he needed her to show him the property boundaries in her backyard.

While they were in the backyard, the male allegedly picked up a “walkie talkie” and started talking to another male. He told the male that he had the homeowner in the backyard.

The woman told police that she was out of her residence for 15 minutes. When she returned inside, she noticed her bedroom was ransacked and several pieces of jewelry and coins were missing.

According to police, the woman advised the male was operating an off-white pick-up truck. The male was described as being in his 30’s with a dark complexion and dark hair.

The male was also approximately 5 feet, 8 inches tall and 175 pounds. He was wearing a blue shirt and khaki pants, police said.
