Elsie M. Baer, 86, of Irvona died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014, at the DuBois Nursing Home. She was born in Glen Richey, the daughter of the late Joseph and Sylvia (Dunlap) Rowles.
Surviving are four daughters, Shirley Smith of York, Nancy Bynon of Albuquerque, NM, Linda Ensbrenner of McKean and Janet McGarvey of Coalport; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Marjorie “Peg” Kashien of Glen Hope; and a brother, Paul Rowles of Riverview, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert T. “Jack” Baer and three siblings, Dorothy “Dot” Lewis, Joann Rowles and Clark “Bud” Rowles.
Mrs. Baer had worked as a school bus driver for Jones Bus Co. She was a member of Coalport United Methodist Church, Rainbow Strollers Camping and Dancing Group and Horseshoe Squares Square Dance Club.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Saturday at the Lloyd-Dimmick Funeral Home Inc., Irvona.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Coalport United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Thomas McGill officiating.
Burial will follow in Bell Cemetery, Glen Hope.
