GRAMPIAN – A free concert will feature Megan McGarry music on Friday at the Grampian Community Park. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
The concert will be held from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. It’s a “going away celebration,” as McGarry has been accepted into Berklee College of Music in Boston.
McGarry will leave for college at the end of August. However, she wanted to perform one more time for her hometown of Grampian.
Also, McGarry wanted to spend time playing with bands that she’s been recently affiliated with. These include contributions on one completed CD by the Dusty Trout Band that was released in November of 2013, as well as a nearly completed CD by the Young Folks.
McGarry is currently finishing her first solo CD to be released soon.
Berklee has a 20 percent audition success rate with potential students from around the world. It’s one of the top music schools worldwide.
McGarry will be majoring in songwriting and minoring in Berklee’s “American Roots” program.
