Richard James Holencik, 76, of Houtzdale died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014 at his residence. Born April 24, 1936, he was the son of Joseph and Margaret (Bodnar) Holencik.
He was employed as a treatment plant operator at Penn State University. He served with the U.S. Marines.
On Aug. 6, 1963 in Winchester, Va., he married Jean (Henderson) Holencik, who survives.
Surviving are two sons, Richard Holencik Jr. and his wife, Kimberly of Philipsburg and Steve Holencik and his wife, Amber of Houtzdale and two daughters, Annette Vancas and her husband, Joseph of Houtzdale and Teresa Dodge and her husband, Dave of Madera.
Also surviving are nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Joseph Holencik and his wife, Rose of Houtzdale and George Holencik and his wife, Kathy of Allport; a sister, Carol Machtel and her husband, Jack of Curwensville; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
At Mr. Holencik’s request, there will be no public visitation or service.
