The Taste of Home Cooking School will welcome Char Morse as one of the newest culinary specialists for the fall of 2014 season.
Raised in a vibrant farming community in Michigan, Char has always been surrounded by food. With her rural roots, she strives to eat fresh and local, lending her signature dishes a delicious, homegrown character.
After earning her culinary arts degree from the Culinary Institute of Michigan through Baker College of Muskegon, Char worked in various mediums, including The Examiner and WZZM TV13, the ABC affiliate in Grand Rapids, where she is the featured chef on the recurring segment, “What’s Cooking?”
Char will bring her enthusiasm for cuisine—and her predilection for pastries and pies—to the Taste of Home Cooking School. “I like to cook anything sweet!” she said, “I love to make decadent desserts, especially pie with my homemade crust.”
Char has perfected her craft through food competitions and her writing and television experience. She looks forward to helping other home cooks do so, as well. “Now that I have my culinary degree, I teach local cooking classes,” she said. “Inspiring home cooks is my passion and my calling.”
Char is an award-winning pie maker and in her free time, she seeks out recipes for inspiration. While she may have an impressive collection—including some special handwritten family recipes—she’s no slave to formula: Char always puts a personal twist on her dishes. With her rich background and experience, Char also pens the food blog, Chef Char Morse, where she shares new recipes, cooking tips and musings from her very own kitchen.
