CLEARFIELD – The Lawrence Township Supervisors announced at last night’s meeting that the long-anticipated paving of Mill Road is scheduled to begin Aug. 11.
Greenland Construction Inc., Clearfield, was awarded the project for $544,935 at the June 17 township meeting.
The supervisors ask residents to plan for alternate routes to access Turnpike Avenue and Clearfield Penn Highlands, as there will be occasional road closures. They assured residents on Mill Road that the project contractor will provide access accommodations.
Preliminary work has been completed, reported Township Roadmaster Ed Brown. He noted the project will include storm sewer replacement at the fire hall and reminds the public using the hall parking to be aware of construction.
Brown asked travelers in the Mill Road/Turnpike Avenue area to be patient and to plan accordingly. The paving project will take about 60 days to complete, weather permitting.
