Traffic delays expected Monday as traffic pattern changes
DUBOIS – Traffic delays should be expected Monday, as work continues on PennDOT’s Route 255 project near Interstate 80.
Crews will be setting barrier and painting roadway lines in order to change the traffic pattern on a small bridge just north of the Treasure Lake entrance.
Dependent on weather and work progress, lengthy delays could occur into mid- afternoon. The traffic pattern change will shift northbound traffic to the right shoulder, allowing crews to work in the center of the bridge.
Flaggers will be in the roadway on Monday from 7 a.m. into the afternoon hours enforcing an alternating traffic pattern during the traffic shift work. Once barrier is set and lines are painted, northbound and southbound lanes will reopen to traffic with 11-foot width restrictions.
This project started in May of 2013 and has included milling and paving, bridge deck repair, cleaning and upgrading of pipe culverts and inlets, water-line extension, and installation of new traffic signals at the I-80 ramps. All work is weather and schedule dependent. New Enterprise Stone and Lime Inc. is the contractor on this $3.7 million project.
