Nick Thompson collected five hits on the night, including three in the evening’s second game, as the State College Spikes pounded out 14 hits during Game Two to defeat the Aberdeen IronBirds, 8-2, and earn a split after the IronBirds’ 3-2 victory in Game One of Thursday night’s doubleheader at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.
