CLEARFIELD – PennDOT expects to re-open a Clearfield County bridge by the end of Thursday once rehabilitation work is finished.
The bridge spans Campbell Run on Route 729 (Tyrone Turnpike) in Ferguson Township, about a mile south of Kerrmoor.
Repairs will keep the bridge in service for years to come and allow PennDOT to remove it from Clearfield County’s structurally deficient list.
A detour using Routes 53, 153, 879, and 969 has been in place since mid-June. That detour will be lifted once the bridge re-opens.
Work has included substructure and superstructure repairs, new guide rail and paving.
Work on the bridge was part of a $1.8 million bridge preservation contract for five bridges in Clearfield County. Swank Construction Company of New Kensington has been the contractor on this project.
