Marlene (Hopkins) Rossin, 74, of Stuart, Fla., died Saturday, July 13, 2014. Born in Sterling on Feb. 4, 1940, she was the daughter of Clay and Marion (Archer) Hopkins.
She graduated from Moshannon Valley High School in 1957 and the Philipsburg State Hospital School of Nursing in 1960. She went to New York and worked in the New York City Hospital for eight years.
She married Joel Jankowitz, had two sons, David and Michael and moved to Miami, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her son, Michael; and her father, Clay Hopkins.
She’s survived by her husband, Nick Rossin of Stuart, Fla.; her son, David and his wife, Tracy; and her grandchildren, Jenna and Cole.
She’s also survived by her mother, Marion Hopkins of Houtzdale; her brothers, Gary and his wife, Roberta of California, Tom and his wife, Paulette of Houtzdale, Lynn and his wife, Claudia of Philipsburg and Jack and his wife, Jean Ann of Houston; nine nephews; one niece; nine great-nephews and seven great-nieces.
A memorial service was held July 20 at the Temple Beth Am in Miami, Fla.
