Community Action Still Offering Home Heating Savings Account Program

CLEARFIELD – The Central Pennsylvania Community Action (CPCA) will continue to offer its Home Heating Savings Account Program.

The Home Heating Savings Account Program provides eligible households the ability to save money to help deter the high costs of heating their homes.

The Home Heating Savings Account will match one-to-one for every dollar a participant saves up to $250.  The participant must save for a minimum of four consecutive months and a minimum of $50 must be saved each month.

The program allows for an additional deposit of $50 during the four-month period.  The income limits are 200 percent of Federal Poverty Guidelines and the participant’s net worth must be less than $10,000.

The program is open to residents in Centre and Clearfield counties. The participant’s home must use oil or natural gas as a heating source.  The participant must attend two workshops that will address budgeting and energy reduction.

The saved money and match money will go directly to the heating vendor of the participant’s choice. Financial support for this program was provided by Northwest Savings Bank.
