CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. has announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week for the week of July 14.
Shaw identified the fugitive as Darrell Laron Taylor, 24, of Washington Avenue, Hyde. Taylor is wanted for failure to appear at plea and sentencing court on July 8.
On Oct. 7, 2013, Officer Randy Young of the DuBois City police filed a criminal complaint against Taylor. He charged Taylor with manufacture, delivery or possession with the intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance; criminal use of a communication facility; and possession of a controlled substance.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, in February of 2013, the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General and the Clearfield County Drug Task Force initiated an investigation into the sale of controlled substances from a location on Maple Avenue in DuBois City. On Feb. 15, 2013, a controlled buy was arranged via cellular telephone, and a confidential informant and undercover agent purchased four Vicodin pills and four dosage units of perforated blotters of LSD from Taylor.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Oct. 18, 2013, at which time all charges were held for court. On July 8, Taylor failed to appear for plea and sentencing court and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Taylor is described as an African-American male standing 5 feet, 9 inches tall. He has brown eyes and black hair.
Anyone with knowledge of Taylor’s location is asked to call Clearfield County Crime Stoppers at 800-376-4700. All calls to Crime Stoppers are confidential.
