Jeffrey L. Freeman, 47, of Erhard died Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Penn Highlands Clearfield.
Born March 28, 1967 in Greenville, he was the son of Joseph W. and Jessie L. (Rowley) Freeman of Erhard.
He was a 1985 graduate of Clearfield High School. He received an Associate’s degree in mechanical drafting from Triangle Tech, DuBois.
He was employed for 25 years with PennDOT as a construction inspector and computer technician. He was the founder of Magnum Opus Woodworking of Erhard.
He enjoyed working on computers and cars, woodworking and especially his grandchildren.
He served as a U.S. Army Reservist and was a member of Oak Ridge Union Church. He was a member of ASCME Local No. 2603, Clearfield, where he held the office of Chief Union Steward.
On Aug. 18, 1990 in Oak Ridge Union Church, he married Crystal D. Lockett Freeman, who survives of Erhard.
He’s survived by a son and daughter, Casey J. Freeman (Kim) and Allison F. Freeman, all of Erhard; two grandchildren, Gage and Wyatt Freeman; four siblings, Joseph J. “Toad” Freeman (Janet) of Glen Richey, Patricia M. Lockett (Kevin) and Thomas L. Freeman (Cindy), both of Erhard, and Ruth Ann Coder (Ken) of Clearfield; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews
He’s also survived by his mother-in-law, Jone Lockett of Carnwath.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Thomas and Clara Rowley; his paternal grandparents, Lewis and Anna Freeman; and his father-in-law, Donald Lockett.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Kruise Funeral Home Inc., Madera.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Kruise Funeral Home Inc., Madera, with Pastor Michael Knepp officiating.
Burial will follow in the Fruit Hill Cemetery, Ansonville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Crystal D. Freeman, 621 Oak Ridge Rd., Madera, PA 16661, to help with funeral expenses.
