Summer Thunder®: A 100th Birthday Tribute to Founders Fred & Murf DelGrosso

TIPTON – The DelGrosso Family of Companies continues to gear up for Summer Thunder®2014.  This year’s annual fireworks extravaganza is themed as a “100th Birthday Tribute to Our Founders, Fred & Murf DelGrosso.”

“My mother and father were the heart and soul of DelGrosso Foods and DelGrosso’s Amusement Park.  If they were still with us today, they would each be turning 100 years old this year.  We thought it would be nice to still throw a celebration in their honor, and Summer Thunder® was the perfect way to do that,” said Joe DelGrosso, Summer Thunder® coordinator and president of DelGrosso Foods.

The opening song to Summer Thunder® 2014 will be dedicated to the memory of Cindy DelGrosso Gardella, whom died earlier this year.  She’s one of seven children of Fred & Murf DelGrosso.  She was also one of the owners of both DelGrosso Foods Inc. and DelGrosso’s Amusement Park.

Summer Thunder® is set to a music soundtrack that is developed by Dave Villani of Data Music Services of Altoona.  The fireworks are designed and built by Arthur Rozzi Pyrotechnics from Maineville, Ohio.

Members of the Rozzi Family have been designing firework shows for DelGrosso’s Amusement Park for more than 50 years.  More than 4,000 shells will light up the night sky in Tipton during the 25-minute pyro-musical spectacular.
