Warren A. Ryder, 88, of Philipsburg died Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at the Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.
Born March 20, 1926, he was a son of the late Daniel B. and Helen Louise (Small) Ryder.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during World War II. He was a plumber and retired from Penn State University.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Philipsburg. He was also a member of AmVets Post No. 159, Philipsburg and American Legion Post No. 159, Mercer.
He was a life member of Hope Fire Co. No. 2 of Philipsburg.
On July 7, 1948 in Tarcento, Italy, he married the former Lina M. Pellarini, who survives at home.
Surviving are a daughter, Amelia Ryder of Mercer; a son, Frank Ryder and his wife, Patricia of Philipsburg; five grandchildren, Terri Lynn Katzenmeyer, Maria Lina Condon, Kathryn N. Breen, Vincent James Ryder and Rebecca Renee Ryder; four great-grandchildren, Nickolas Katzenmeyer, Corrina Katzenmeyer, Rachel Green and Dominick Ryder; nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Small of Philipsburg.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Lina C. Doran; a sister, Winifred Dulany; two brothers, Harry D. Ryder and Daniel Ryder; and two step-brothers, R. Zeak Small and Kenneth Small.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no public visitation.
