Penn Highlands Clearfield to Host Open Dialogue with Women to Help Them Live Life with Vibrancy

CLEARFIELD – Penn Highlands Clearfield will host a free Lunch and Learn program called “Vibrance for Women” on Tuesday July 8, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the first floor conference room at the hospital.

Thomas A. Carnevale, M.D., and Deborah DeMuro, certified registered nurse practitioner, will be among the featured speakers.

“Vibrance” will address one of the real-life challenges associated with menopause, vaginal atrophy. Women all across the country are living with the uncomfortable secret that they suffer from vaginal symptoms related to menopause, and few women ask for help in managing their concerns.

Health education, question-and-answer sessions and engaging activities will be woven throughout the event to emphasize awareness of symptoms and treatment options for menopausal-related concerns. RSVPs are requested and may be made by calling 814-371-9666.

“It’s not an easy topic. Many women avoid talking with their healthcare providers about vaginal symptoms they are experiencing related to menopause for a variety of reasons.  Often women accept vaginal changes, thinking it’s a part of aging they just have to accept,” says Tanya Abreu, president and chief visionary officer, Spirit of Women Hospital Network.

“Women don’t have to live with continuous discomfort – we need to show women that nothing has to stop them from living with vibrancy. This program is designed to educate women about their options and activate them to seek care.”

Penn Highlands Clearfield, in partnership with Spirit of Women and with support provided by Novo Nordisk, a global healthcare company, will host “Vibrance” along with other Spirit of Women Hospitals from a hospital network of more than 100 members stretching across the country.
