VCC Holds Re-introductory Event

CLEARFIELD – Visit Clearfield County (VCC) reintroduced itself to the local community on June 24 at the Expo I Building at the Clearfield County Fairgrounds.

The event was open to businesses, municipalities, social clubs, volunteers and interested citizens. Approximately 65 people took the opportunity to meet the VCC staff, as well as to learn about its programs and to network within the community.

The VCC staff presented facts and statistics about tourism marketing and visitor attendance. They also had displays highlighting partner benefits and funding opportunities.

The VCC booth for marketing and outdoor shows was displayed with items produced with hotel tax funding. Several dining partners were on-hand with samples of their top edibles.

Also, in attendance was Chris Jung, tourism marketing manager with the state Department of Community & Economic Development (DCED), as well as U.S. Rep. Glenn Thompson and State Rep. Tommy Sankey’s staff.

Each attendee was asked to participate in a survey about the county tourism product. This information will be used for the 2014-15 fiscal year marketing plans.

The VCC staff plans on holding annual or semi-annual meetings with the purpose of keeping the public informed and to draw information from the tourism public.

Anyone interested in filling out a survey should please visit the VCC Web site and go under the “partners” tab.
