Mary P. Meckley, 92, of Clearfield died Saturday, June 21, 2014 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.
She was born May 5, 1922 in Frenchville, a daughter of the late Gabriel and Mary Madeline (Mindek) Belinda.
Mrs. Meckley was a homemaker who took great pride in raising her family. She was also a devout Catholic and a member of the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield.
Mrs. Meckley was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 812 Women’s Auxiliary, Clearfield.
She is survived by her daughter, Patty Shirey and her husband, Guy of Pittsburgh; seven grandchildren, Gaylene Rydbom, Donna Peterson, Stephen Meckley, Jeff Meckley, Eric Shirey, Evan Shirey and Colby Shirey; several great grandchildren; two sisters, Katheryn Orlosky of Lititz and Hannah Orlosky of Philipsburg; and a brother, Fr. Augusta Belinda of Loretto.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul A. Meckley, in 1982; a son, Donald Meckley; three sisters, Agnes Belinda, Helen E. Kresge and Margaret Belinda; and six brothers, Pete, Andy, Mike, John, Steve and Joseph Belinda.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield, with Father Brandon Kleckner as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Banner Ridge Cemetery, Mahaffey.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield.
A Christian Vigil Service will be held at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
